Databases

The Campus Library offers a range of databases where you can find full text versions (e-books, e-journals) and bibliographic references from specialized literature and journals. Due to licensing reasons, some services may only be available for one university and not for the other. Unrestricted access to the entire range of databases is only available at the internet workstations in the reading room.

Feel free to make use of our courses or learning videos on database research and the support offered by the staff at the Information Desk.

Please note:

Off campus, only members of the Flensburg universities can access e-media. You have three options:

  1. Login in the Discoverysystem: In the Discoverysystem, outside the campus network, you will see the display "Guest access - please log in!" at the top of the screen. Log in there with your network access data.
  2. Login at the provider via Shibboleth: With many publishers and databases, you can authenticate yourself via your university using Shibboleth. Generally, you go to Login and then to Login via Institution or Shibboleth/OpenAthens. You can then search for Flensburg and select your university. Log in there with your network access data.
  3. Access via VPN: To gain access via VPN, you need a VPN client, which you can find on the website of the Europa-Universität or Flensburg University of Applied Sciences. There you will also find instructions on how to install and use the VPN client. This service is only available to a limited extent for students of the Europa-Universität. Please use the other access options.

Depending on which university you belong to, the access to e-media may vary. You can also find more information and instructions under learning videos.
