Photocopying – printing – scanning

New printing and photocopying system from the EUF’s AStA at the ZHB

The AStA of the Europa-Universität Flensburg (EUF) has introduced a new printing and photocopying system with the support of the ZHB.

Registration and Credit

  • EUF students and staff: You can log in to the photocopiers and the PC workstations at the ZHB directly using your usual EUF network login details.
A CHIP card can also be linked to your printing account on the machines for logging in and out. EUF students automatically receive a free allowance. If this is not sufficient, further credit can be topped up directly with the EUF AStA.
  • Flensburg University of Applied Sciences (FUAS) & guest users: Users without an EUF account must first set up a print account with the EUF’s AStA and top up their credit there.

Important note regarding service & support

The ZHB merely provides the premises for the machines. On-site, library staff are responsible solely for refilling paper and replacing toner cartridges.

Should a paper jam occur, please clear it yourself following the instructions on the machine (except in the case of blockages directly in the paper trays).
For further technical queries or problems with your printing account, please contact the EUF’s AStA directly.

The photocopiers are located

  • on the 2nd floor, north wing (in the room near the research computers)
  • on the 1st floor, north wing (in the room near the research computers)

Book scanners

For the quick and careful digitisation of books and documents, three free book scanners are available at the Central University Library (ZHB) at the following locations:

  • 2nd floor, North (2nd floor – North)
  • 1st floor, North (1st floor – North)
  • Basement, South (Basement – South)

Features and tips for use

  • Text recognition (OCR):
The book scanners feature integrated OCR text recognition. To ensure that the scanned text is searchable and copyable in the PDF, the OCR function must be activated manually once at the start of the scanning process.
  • Transfer to a USB stick:
You can save your scans as PDF files directly to a compatible USB stick.
  • Transfer to a mobile device (Scan2Mobile):
Alternatively, you can transfer your documents directly to your smartphone or tablet without a USB stick:
    1. Scan the 1st QR code: Establishes a direct Wi-Fi connection between your mobile device and the book scanner.
    2. Scan the 2nd QR code: Transfers the created PDF file directly to your mobile device.
