In the first phase of the conversion, rolling shelving systems with a capacity of approximately 100,000 volumes will be built in the closed stacks in the basement, so that modern individual and group workstations can be created in the ZHB on the spaces that become free in the second conversion phase.
The first phase was completed in autumn 2023. The remaining work will continue until spring 2024.
The goal is to be able to use the library even more appropriately as a place to work, learn and communicate, and to better support collaborative work and forms of learning and working with direct encounters.
